The post holder must have excellent written and oral communication skills, have the ability to prepare and present public lectures and seminars, and be capable of providing official advice on a range of issues concerned with mosquito control. The post holder will be required to establish a professional and credible profile, both personally and for the Department. The post holder is expected to have, or be capable of acquiring, knowledge and skills for some or all of the following: practical experience and/or qualifications in the safe use and handling of pesticides, the training of staff, insecticide application techniques, mosquito ecology and bionomics, insect biochemistry, the principles and techniques of molecular biology, statistical expertise in handling scientific data and computer applications of GIS mapping software.
